またフィンランド国立公衆衛生研究所が行った大規模な調査では、1日3～4杯のコーヒーを飲んだ場合、飲まない人に比べ女性で29％、男性で27％糖尿病にかかる率が減少、1日10杯以上飲んだ場合は、女性で79％、男性で55％の減少という結果が出ています。
これらの他にも、アメリカやスウェーデン、日本などの各国で、コーヒーの2型糖尿病予防効果について「効果あり」という研究報告がされています。
